Video Game Addiction

Video game history has been evolved rapidly since 35 years ago. First game genre that made some people fall in love into game community is Adventure. They love to follow  the descriptions and simple noun-verb to finish the game and gain some achievment. Early game is not as futuristic as nowadays games. It still programmed with c++ and so on. Not like some new game that developed by newer technology.

A major evolution in the adventure game was the new genre called RPG. RPG stands for role-playing game. This genre include farming, looting, fighting with bosses, and explore the unknown area. So the player will control 1 character and finding achievment to earn glory. With the increasing of players in RPG game, so many developers started to make server and give an opportunity to make players can interract each other.

The first massively-multiplayer game is ARPANET. But this is not complete yet because of the limitation of the software and hardware. And finally after some modification by Nolan , Atari is founded. Dave and Gary sell their first typewritten copies of Dungeons and Dragons, a game which continues to inspire both tabletop and computer RPGs to this day. 

One of the most widely incidents relating to Dungeons & Dragons came in 1979, with the disappearance of 16-year-old James Dallas Egbert III. Egbert had attempted suicide in the utility tunnels  beneath the campus of Michigan State University, and after his unsuccessful attempt, hid at a friend's house for approximately a month. investigator speculated in the press that Egbert had gotten lost in the steam tunnels during a live-action version of the game. Thats why game addiction need some proper attention to minimize the bad effect
